Latest Nebraska quarterback news

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule held his press conference on Thursday and indicated that quarterback Dylan Raiola will be ready for today’s game against the USC Trojans.

Raiola has been struggling with a back injury all season. He aggravated it again in the final game of the schedule against the UCLA Bruins. There were initial questions about whether he would be ready for Saturday’s game. Now we have an answer.

The quarterback has recorded 1,921 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions this year. The last time out, he went 14-for-27, throwing for 177 yards, a touchdown and an interception against the Bruins.

This is certainly a positive development for a Huskers program that needs a spark offensively. Raiola’s status and new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen could be a recipe for success against a talented Trojans team.

Dylan Raiola injury update

Head coach Matt Rhule said the following when asked about the quarterback status for Saturday.

“Dylan will be ready to go and had a great week of practice. We have representatives from all the boys. Heinrich (Haarberg) ready to go. Heinrich has had two very good weeks. We’re bringing four quarterbacks, but they’re all comfortable with what we’re doing.”
